mistakes, no regrets

(note: this is an answer to a Plinky promt, “What is your favorite mistake?”)

I have made many mistakes in my life and I’m only 28 years of age.
But I have many and hardly any that I really, honestly regret making, especially where they only effected me.
But in truth a mistake never only effects just you… I’m sorry for all the people I hurt along the way, sorry for making them miserable, sorry for not caring (enough) if I did or even noticing.
I guess a favorite mistake of many, is falling in love. I never see that as a mistake until I make the “mistake” of falling out off love… “Kayleigh, how did it come to this bitter end? “ But in turn that doesn’t turn out to be a mistake, since you made each other miserable.
Maybe everything is as it should be…

No regrets…. Maybe that makes every mistake a favorite.

Nice post I feel the same way to, like they say everything happens for a reason. Sure theres ways you could have prevented, stopped, or altered the outcome but dwelling in the past will make you angry or sad or whatever that memory is associtated with.

Yes you shouldn’t dwell on the past, especially if everything turned out fine in the end! Personally I don’t really like the frase: “everything happens for a reason” because it implies the existence of a divine master plan. But surely in hindsight it’s easy to attach reason to events, at least for yourself, which is not a bad thing atall because it makes it easier to understand and give it a place.
      Tnx for your response!
