Last Saturday I invited all (read; most) of my friends to the beach for a nice gathering with drinks, food, sun, sand and sea. A lot of people came and a lot of people brought food and drink.
We talked, laughed and swam, and later when the sun started setting we build ourself a camp fire. What ever I had expected, the love and joy of that evening was unforgettable and overwhelming.
Slowly, but surely, friends started leaving and through the haze of too much alcohol I realized that this would be the last time I would see some of them for a long time.
It is a strange realization – friends who have been there for me through my happiest and worse moments won’t be close, rather half way around the world, for the next year.
And I wonder how I will cope…
